The Rail Tool

The Rail Tool is designed for the total station determination of the position and height of rail and crane tracks. This versatile tool allows for the comprehensive measurement of rails, not only determining the running edge, but also the opposite outer edge and the rail axis.

Features and Functions of the tool

  • Adjustable Jaw Distance: The jaws can be adjusted to fit rail widths between 45 and 115 mm.
  • Symmetrical Jaw Positioning: Both jaws are equidistant from the center of the tool, ensuring consistent measurements.
  • Edge Measurement: Measures the two edges 14 mm below the rail top edge or running surface.
  • M8 Internal Threads: Three M8 internal threads for screwing in adapters or prism holders, positioned above both edges and the rail axis.
  • Adjustable Stops: For quick measurement of a specific rail type.
  • Magnets in Jaws: Ensure reliable contact with the rail.
  • Tubular Level: For horizontal alignment of the tool perpendicular to the rail's longitudinal axis.
  • Height from Running Surface: The distance from the running surface to the top of the M8 thread is 25 mm.

This tool offers precise and reliable measurement capabilities for various rail types, making it an essential instrument for railway and crane track maintenance and setup.

2. Revolver Base M8

The Revolver Base M8 is a compact, versatile base designed for use with ball prisms Ø1.5” (38.1 mm). Despite its smaller size compared to standard bases, it provides reliable support and flexibility in various applications.

Key Features:

  • Base Dimensions: Ø27 x 10 mm, made from orange anodized aluminum.
  • Thread: M8 x 6 mm external thread in stainless steel.
  • Design: Includes a knurl for secure screwing and unscrewing.
  • Distance: From base bottom to ball/prism center: 20 mm and 25 mm ± 0.1 mm.
  • Magnetic Holding Force: Ø1.5" (38.1 mm) ball prisms: approx. 0.3 kg.
  • Weight: 18 g.
  • Usage: Not compatible with centering plates.
